Types of Dental Emergencies We Handle

Knocked-Out Tooth

Time is critical. Handle the tooth by the crown, gently rinse it without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If that is not possible, keep it moist in milk or saliva and come in immediately.

Severe Toothache

Persistent or severe tooth pain may indicate an infection, abscess, or deep cavity. Rinse with warm salt water and avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum. Call us for a same-day appointment.

Broken or Cracked Tooth

Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Save any broken pieces and bring them to your appointment. We can often repair the tooth the same day.

Lost Filling or Crown

If a filling or crown falls out, keep the area clean and avoid chewing on that side. You can apply dental cement or sugar-free gum as a temporary measure until you see us.

Abscess or Infection

A dental abscess is a serious infection that can spread. Symptoms include swelling, fever, and a persistent throbbing pain. Rinse with mild salt water and seek treatment as soon as possible.

Bleeding Gums or Soft Tissue Injury

Apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth or gauze. If bleeding does not stop within 15 to 20 minutes, or if the injury is severe, contact us immediately or visit an emergency room.
